Kimberly Myers: Videos

CASTLE OF DREAMS VIDEO

Filmed in the historic and beautiful Castle at Maryvale, Brooklandville, Maryland, the "Castle of Dreams" video features each of the instruments in the song–piano, English horn, oboe and Celtic harp. Videographer Pat Dougherty, a graduate of Sheffield Institute in Jacksonville, Maryland, produced a very creative vignette that is entertaining and educational. "Many people confuse the oboe with the clarinet and the English horn with the French horn," Kim commented. "The goal of the video was to lead people through the song with a visual of each instrument as they hear it, and to unfold it as a story line. I think that Pat's work on the film achieved all of that, and at the same time captured the incredible ambiance of the castle."  Note: The castle image which was used in the photo illustration that appears on the cover of the CD is the Castle at Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

SOAR (TRIO): MELODY OF THE BIRDS – SLIDE SHOW

“Soar”, from the Meadow Woods Suite album, is the background music for a slide show of beautiful bird photography by Joe Turner with whom Kim studied for several years. Following his recent retirement from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra after a 45-year career as a principal oboist, Mr. Turner began to devote himself to taking pictures of birds. A birder since childhood, he and his wife spend much of their free time in pursuit of this hobby and have traveled to many states and abroad in order to augment their life lists. More of his images may be viewed on his Flickr site.
